    How long have you been in the field? - Since 2013.

    In a sentence or two, what is your philosophy? Or something personal about your path or work as an art therapist. - As an art therapist, I work with individuals from a client-centered lens and facilitate an integrative approach. I see the process of healing as a creative journey, and I embrace the somatic and relational elements of art therapy, recognizing its ability to facilitate healing beyond verbal expression.

    What populations do you work with? - I work with adults who are looking to move beyond symptoms of anxiety, trauma, and low self-esteem.

    Do you have any specialties? - I am a trauma and anxiety therapist. I specialize in helping adults who are struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, and trauma symptoms rediscover a sense of safety, trust in self, and enriched relationships. I offer specialized psychotherapy services via Clinical Art Psychotherapy, EMDR Therapy, and Clinical Hypnosis. I also offer Clinical Art Psychotherapy supervision and consultation as well as EMDR therapy consultation.

    What setting do you work in? - I offer in-person psychotherapy services in Midvale, Utah and virtual psychotherapy services throughout Utah. I offer Clinical Art Psychotherapy and EMDR Therapy supervision and consultation in-person in Midvale, Utah and globally via virtual connection.

    Are you taking new clients? - Not currently accepting new clients, though we do maintain an active waitlist.

    Do you take insurance? - Currently in-network with UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, UMR, Meritain, and Nippon.

    Where and what are you studying? - I am currently doing prerequisites at Weber State University to be able to apply to art therapy grad programs. I am majoring in art and minoring in queer studies and psychology.

Or something personal about your path or work as an art therapist. - "We're all a little stronger than we think we are" and "Life's a painting and you're the artist" - both lyrics from Paradise Fears songs ("Who You Are" and "Sanctuary" respectively).

    Where did you go to school? - Naropa University for Master of Arts in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, Concentration in Art Therapy; Hartwick College for Bachelor of Arts in Art History.

    How long have you been in the field? - Since 2011.

    In a sentence or two, what is your philosophy? Or something personal about your path or work as an art therapist? - I use a strengths-based approach, which art making complements perfectly as it intrinsically draws out strengths. I’m passionate about community based art therapy and the open studio approach, both significant components of my graduate training.

    What populations do you work with? - Children and families in crisis.

    Do you have any specialties? - I am certified in Motivational Interviewing and as a crisis worker. I was also recently trained in the Family Check-Up Model and Everyday Parenting and address issues of Early Childhood Mental Health.

    What setting do you work in? - I work in a community mental health setting as a crisis stabilization therapist.

    Are you taking new clients? - Anyone in the community can receive crisis support by calling or texting the 988 crisis line, 24/7.

    Do you or your employer accept interns? - Yes. Weber Human Services accepts counseling and social work interns.

    How long have you been in the field? - 5.5 years

    In a sentence or two, what is your philosophy? Or something personal about your path or work as an art therapist. - At my work we operate from the framework of Humanistic, DBT and ACT. In my personal perspective I also incorporate Trauma informed care with a focus on Somatic perspectives.

    What populations do you work with?- Kids, Teens, Adults

    Do you have have any specialties? - Not currently, working on Sensorimotor Art therapy trainings.

    Where did you go to school? - Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville for a Masters of Arts in Art Therapy, Utah State University for a Bachelor of Fine Arts specializing in Printmaking, and Barnard College for an adventure in New York City.

    How long have you been in the field? - Since 1993

    In a sentence or two, what is your philosophy? Or something personal about your path or work as an art therapist? - I discovered art therapy accidentally and fell into a lovely world of alternative ways to think about healing using creativity and other mind opening modalities.

    What populations do you work with? - Adults, teens and children as well as adults working on recovery from addiction.

    Do you have any specialties? - I am a FLOW facilitator with the Good Grief Network and am a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance. I appreciate the group format of therapy as both an opportunity to heal and connect with others as well as a more affordable option for people who may not have insurance.

    What setting do you work in? - I work primarily as an inpatient therapist and have a small outpatient practice.

    Do you or your employer accept interns? - Huntsman Mental Health Institute does accept interns.

    What’s your favorite art medium? - It depends on the moment. I work with clay, acrylic, watercolor, collage, found object art, photoshop and oil pastels.

    Who inspires you? If I'm paying attention with an open mind, almost everyone. I also love the work of Pema Chodron, Thich Nhat Hahn and those people working on climate justice issues.
